You are the Light

People who have had an NDE often say they met a “being of Light”, loving and compassionate, and/or bathed in an infinitely soft, loving, happy and peaceful Light.

They all felt totally loved, welcomed and understood by this loving Light. They were incredibly happy to be enveloped by Her. Many people even felt at one with this Light, with the feeling that they were part of it.

The Light is within you

Even without an NDE, you can discover this Light within yourself. In inner silence, in the stillness of your mind, you can feel it deep inside you. As a Zen proverb says: “we must close our shutters to the outside lights to finally see the inner Light”.

Jacques Lusseyran, a writer who became blind as a child and went on to lead a resistance network during World War II, wrote: “Joy doesn’t come from outside. It is within us, no matter what. Light doesn’t come from outside. It is within us, even without eyes.”

Once you’ve learned to see this Light within you, you’ll become aware that it’s always been there, from the moment you were conceived. It’s you who have been so busy with the outside world, its joys and difficulties, that you haven’t taken the time to feel it, let alone listen to it.

Light heals and liberates

If you take the time to let this Light shine within you, you’ll see that it :

  • heals your wounds,
  • frees you from your fears,
  • offers you totally unconditional love,
  • shows you the way to live in love.

Finally, you’ll even realize that in reality this Light is not external to you. You are that Light. Your innermost being is a flame of this Light of love, infinite and eternal.

Jacques Lusseyran also wrote: “Light is my element. I’m made of it. But you too are made of light. People tell you that light is not inside you, but outside you. I know from experience that this is not true. And that’s why I’ve been joyful even in the worst moments of my existence. This connection between light and joy is the central fact of my experience. When I say light, I don’t mean the luminous objects and reflections that make up the visual world. I’m thinking of the source, which is within.

True happiness is to live knowing in every fiber of your being that you are this Light, this Source. As one experiencer put it: “I understood that the love wasn’t just coming from the whitelighter, but was part of myself. I was filled with joy and peace. I felt that happiness lay in this truth.
